Hear from our esteemed judges

Ms Sally Kong (Deputy Director, National Organ Transplant Unit, Ministry of Health)
LOF - Design & Essay Competition Judging Panel
The Design and Essay Competition entries both provided valuable insights to the topic of organ donation and transplantation. The design entries portray a compelling story telling be it “My Organ, My Companion or Our Transformative Journey”.
Each story so skillfully executed with the use of the various elements and techniques either through traditional or digital mediums and the expressions; importantly, the emotions that envelopes each unique piece.
The outstanding artworks are those that exude intense emotions, sparking the connection with the viewers, a mesmerizing effect drawing them into the heart of it.
The poise and eloquence of the essays displays the literacy skills of the participants, who provided valuable insights to the topic of organ donation and transplantation penned in a coherent narrative which are focused and impactful.
The common characteristic of outstanding essays are those that are able to amalgamate well researched facts with relevant applications into convincing and emotive master pieces not losing sight of the theme.
The Live On Festival has provided learning opportunities as well as creativity to flow through our young participants. I wish to extend my congratulations to the winners for being on this journey to enable societal change to happen through the magnificent artworks and writings, communicating understanding and compassion on the matter.

Ms Sabrina Long (Dean, Faculty of Art and Design/Principal, School of Young Talents Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts)
LOF - Design Competition Judging Panel
This year, I have the opportunity to witness some great expression in the students’ translation and execution of the two themes in the school and open categories.
Creativity is limitless and it is evident that we can take our imagination and create many dimensions through various different ways and mediums.
This competition is a great platform to be experimental and exploratory that allows one to express the themes meaningfully and boldly. My warmest congratulations to all winners for your creativity, great expression and fitness in articulating the themes!

Ms Karen Tan (Group Director, Communications and Engagement Group, Ministry of Health Deputy Chief Government Communications (Development) and Senior Director (Transformation), Ministry of Communications and Information)

I am impressed with many of the entries for the “Live On” Campaign, and the profund message of hope and compassion, and the importance of organ donation.
The artworks not only showcased great creativity but also delve deep into the emotions of patients who need a new lease of life, and the difference it can make in their lives.
Looking beyond the technical merits of each artwork, there is much understanding and empathy conveyed, and each artist poured their heart and soul into their work reflecting their personal connection to the cause. A most worthy celebration for this collective effort, no matter who is the winner.

With so many fantastic entries that speak volumes, it is truly an honour to be part of this year’s Live on Festival 2023 Design Competition judging panel.
This year's theme of [My Organ My Companion] and [Our Transformative Journey] through the eyes of the youth inspire us to realise the importance of organ donation.
I hope these unique works of art move your hearts and minds to recognise meaningful values and themes.
Congratulations to all our well-deserved winners. This contest is only the beginning. Continue to create larger-than-life ideas through art that will spark change in the future.

Ms Iris Teoh (Art Director, GOVT)
LOF - Design Competition Judging Panel
It was my greatest pleasure to be part of the LOF judging panel this year. While reviewing the submissions, I could feel the passion as I reviewed each entry which led me to feel very inspired. Through the craft of each visual, one can see the effort that was put in to convey a beautiful message from their unique ways of storytelling.
The winning entries definitely stood out to me in terms of their craft, choice of colours and attention to details. What won my heart was knowing that a lot of our younger generations are amazingly talented.
This made me realise that we can do so much with our skills and as demonstrated here - creating awareness about organ donation. I believe regardless of results, everyone who participated should celebrate the talent they have in them and their contribution to raising awareness to Singaporeans.
